You can do what with that?

1.) kulae tpECOmat as a jar opener

So, I was at home after a day at work the other evening waiting for my fiance.to get out of work like usual. I decided to start cooking some food so it would be ready for him when he got home because he works so hard! Well, since he is Brazilian, hes gotta have his rice and beans....and hes gotta have some kind of garlic in there somewhere. I went into the refrigerator and grabbed the huge jar of minced garlic (yeah...because I didn't really feel like chopping the fresh stuff.) and for the life of me...I could not open the freakin' jar! Now, usually in this situation, and most women could back me up on this one, I would just hand the jar over to the closest man possible to open it right? I tried a cloth, I tried to bang it against the counter, (not recommended of course) and I even tried piercing a hole into the cover of it to let some air out thinking it would loosen up. No..it didn't. So, here I am in my kitchen wondering how I am going to open this jar. Then a light bulb appeared over my head! Bing! I thought to myself, I will use the corner of my yoga mat! So I went into my room and gripped the corner of my kulae tpECOmat over the top of the jar and wha la! It opened up with ease! Ladies, next time your man ain't there (or if you are single and don't buy jars of things because of this reason) use your kulae mat!

2.) kulae yoga strap as a fashionable belt!

When we were exhibiting at a yoga conference in Boston earlier this year, I realized I forgot my karma's real t-shirt. I didn't want to sell our mats at our booth without some kind of Kulae gear on, so I had the Epiphany of making one of our 8' long yoga straps an awesome belt to wear and to represent my crew! Now its a growing trend! Pull strap through your pant loops just like any other belt. Now once you have it looped in and tightened Cut the remainder so it is

3.) Our organic mat cleaner as a interior car cleaner (even great as an all-purpose cleaner!)

Our CEO gave me the idea to clean the inside of my car with the kulae organic mat cleaner...It cleans great, disinfects, and smells great! You gotta try it!

If anyone has any more awesome ideas...please post them up on Facebook or shoot me an email! We are always looking for different and creative ways to use/reuse our products!

Community, Oneness, and a Drunken OM all the way Home!

The remainder of the Midwest Yoga Conference was just as much amazing as the previous blog. It is pretty impossible to describe into words but I am going to do the best that I can.

Saturday after writing, I realized that I was still going to experience many more "firsts" I asked Zeina from I Love Yoga to "fly" me. It was so cool. I didn't realize balancing on someones feet could be so relaxing. Then, she showed me how to "fly" her! I am totally going to do it to my Fiance later if he lets me:o)

I had the great experience of taking Seane Corns class that day. The class the 4th Chakra - the Heart, incorporated with a tough Vinyassa flow. Of course I sat my butt up in the front row, it was cool to be so close to Seane Corn while she spoke. She is a powerful speaker and the things she had to say was truly inspiring and also brought tears to my eyes. ( I know I am corny - no pun intended) At the end of the class I went up to Gina Seanes Assistant to thank for assisting me because everyone flocked to Seane. I didn't want to bother her.....but I even gave Seane an invitation to the "Underground Gathering" - just for the hell of it!

Anyway, I was super excited about this "Midwest Yoga Underground Gathering" that I arranged for later that evening. I made ghetto invitations in the business center at the hotel and passed them out to ALL of the exhibitors and some presenters that I could get close to. I wanted to do something to get the exhibitors together off campus because we pretty much were working working working the whole time. Everyone was pretty much down for it. I set up a shuttle from the hotel to Jameson's the bar down the street from the Hilton and Kulae got a few appetizers to share. I didn't really know what to expect and who was going to come, but let me tell ya, it turned out to be great! The Passport to Prana people came, the Nepal Orphange crowd, the I Love Yoga crowd, the David Romanelli crew, of course us Kulae peeps, and a handful of awesome yoga teachers were there too! I want to give a special shout out to Nancy McCaochan, Mike Jones, Terri Bahr, Lauren Long, Belinda Thurston (Who let the Yogi's out - OM OM OM OM!), Shayna, Diana Lee, Nadine, Rachel + Kendall + Jenny from Yoga State in MI. It was Jenny's birthday and we got the whole bar to sing for her!

The most satisfying thing about this gathering was, that we, the Yogis and Yoginis, brought life into this place on this wonderful Saturday night. We got people in the house dancing, and we all felt a sense of community and oneness. On the way home in Kendall and Jenny's van (that we fit 11 people + a dog into) - we chanted a Drunken OM - best thing is I got it on video! check it out!!!

The last day - was sad. I didn't want this event to be over. Jane and Ryan did a great job putting on the whole conference. I made so many connections with so many beautiful people on a personal and spiritual level, and I'm not going to lie, it was tough to say good bye. The great thing is, I know that I am going to be seeing most of these people again, if not....all of them at another show, sooner or later.

Pretty much, the lesson I learned from this whole weekend of "firsts" is that I my goal from here on out is to acknowledge the "firsts" in every single day I physically have left on this earth. This weekend I was awakened, aware, conscious. Now, I am bringing this consciousness to everyday life. It is my calling to Learn, teach and love through yoga.

"Firsts"

I cannot express enough the life changing experiences I am having here at the Midwest Yoga Conference. Just yesterday, I experienced so many "firsts" in my life that it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. Not only am I experiencing these "firsts" but I have had the opportunity to connect to so many warm hearted people that this also brings tears to my eyes. This is only my second yoga conference (the first was Yoga Journal Boston) and I feel as though every time I come to one of these events, I know I am meant to be here. Just yesterday, I my first experience of meditating with a group of people for the first time. I had the experience of meditating to the gong for the first time. The feeling was such a natural high I felt as though I wasn't in my physical body for a moment. I had my first experience with Kundalini Yoga. I had my first experience learning from Shakta Kaur in the Sex and Intimacy Kundalini Yoga workshop. She is an amazing teacher and has a wonderful personality and sense of humor. I never had the experience of chanting with another woman while looking right into her eyes. It was a bond that I have never experienced with a person I have never met. Because of that, we now have connected. The class was very informative about the importance of sex and the relationship between yourself and your lover. After the class, I noticed my arms.....my veins were kind of bulging and pumping blood differently than I have ever seen or felt before. Very interesting. Check her out at http://www.shaktakaur.com/

After the class, I decided to have some dinner alone. I needed some "me" time and also I needed to prepare for the Midwest Yoga Underground Gathering that I am putting together. That will be tonight at 9:30pm at a bar a couple blocks from here. That in itself will probably be a whole other blog entry! After a lovely dinner alone I went to my hotel room and relaxed until I headed down to the Journey Dance workshop. I walked in on the end of Julia Buterfly Hill's lecture. (I wish I went earlier!) I caught about 15 minutes, and everything she had to say in that awakening 15 minutes was very inspiring. I am drinking water out of the same bottle all weekend because of her, and anyone who knows her knows what I mean:o) I didn't know that she lived in a tree for 2 years, and I am completely intrigued and yearning to learn more about her activism. She stopped by our booth this morning and she is using an Ultra mat as I am typing this...I was honored to let her try it!

After the lecture....the lovely Toni Bergins (who I met Friday at our booth) started the Journey Dance workshop. Not only was this the first time in my life I have ever done a dance workshop, the feeling of freedom was a "first" too! I never felt the feeling of freedom that I felt dancing in Trilium 1! I never experienced touching and dancing with others and not feeling awkward because they are strangers. It was such an intimate and sensual experience that we all bonded consciously and sub-consciously. I realized that my body can move in beautiful ways I wasn't aware of before. At one point when Toni directed us to tell our story through dance, I just did what my body told me to do. I was reaching to the sky and pulling the sky into my heart. Looking back, I realized that my whole life I have been trying to find God and my body was representing this at this particular time. Now I know that I have found God and my spirituality through Yoga and Dance. http://www.journeydance.com/

We are totally honored to have awesome booth neighbors. We are next to I Love Yoga and Moses and Zeina are incredible people. I am very interested in the Green Bus Project and their tour later this year! I had the chance to sit and chat with Moses for the first time and I learned alot from him just through conversation. We talked about the Flower of Life, Music, The Green Bus Project and Chanting. Plus - their clothes are pretty freakin' awesome. We are also next to Journey Jewels and they have some beautiful pieces for sale. The girls at the booth were also at Journey Dance last night, and it is interesting how we have bonded through this experience.

I could go on and on about the incredible amazing people and experiences that I have encountered since arriving here at this lovely resort on Thursday. I just want to shout out to the Nepal Orphanage Organization because what they are doing is a great thing. Check them out at
