What is TPE?
TPE, or Thermo Plastic Elastomer, is a composite material that is 100% biodegradable and recyclable, and is 100% free from PVC, Chlorides, Dioxins, Latex and Rubber (free from allergens). TPE is a resilient, highly elastic material that is composed primarily of styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymers (also called SBS).
Which mat is right for me, the tpECOmat™, the tpECOmat™ Plus / Ultra?
The 3mm thick tpECOmat™ is best for those who are involved in any hot yoga practice to use under a kulae Hot Yoga Towel. It is also great for the frequent traveler because it is a super light-weight mat that weighs less than 2 lbs! (you can even fold it up and put it in a suitcase!)
The 5mm thick tpECOmat™ Plus was constructed for ALL types of yoga across the board! It has a wonderful amount of cushioning but it is thin enough for those who do alot of balancing poses. This is our most popular mat and is still really light-weight!
The 8mm thick tpECOmat™ Ultra is great for those who have any kind of knee or back injuries. This mat has an incredible amount of cushioning so when you are in Cat or Cow, your knees won't be killing you, and when you are in savasana it will feel more comfortable for your head and tush! It is also great for those who just desire a thicker more comfortable yoga mat!
Should I wash my brand new tpECOmat before I use it?
YES! Not only will a quick wash ensure hygiene after the packaging and shipping of your eco mat, it will also improve the traction. After we manufacture our mats, we add a very thin protective layer to both sides of the mat to prevent damage during packaging/shipping. Optimal traction occurs without this protective layer. To remove the protective layer, simply wash once using the kulae organic yoga mat cleaner, or any organic, mild cleanser that is free of conditioners and moisturizers.
How do I clean and care for my tpECOmat?
Post-Practice Cleaning
Lightly spray kulae organic yoga mat cleaner directly onto soiled areas of your yoga mat. Thoroughly wipe areas in a circular motion, and let it air-dry.
Deep Cleaning & Restoration
Heavily spray kulae organic yoga mat cleaner directly onto mat and soak for 3 minutes. Thoroughly work into a deep lather with a damp cloth, and let it air-dry. Repeat if needed.
Please note: If you are in need to clean your mat before you practice, please let your yoga mat fully air-dry (around 20 minutes) before your practice to prevent slippage!
Mat Care -
Do not leave your tpECOmat in a hot car or direct sunlight for a long period of time! It will quicken the biodegradable process!
Do not wash in the washing machine it may cause tearing in the mat!
What do I use a kulae hot yoga towel for?
There are many uses for a yoga towel. Yoga towels are most widely associated with various styles of hot yoga, as a means of maintaining traction and absorbing sweat on the mat. Additionally, the towel can be used to add additional comfort or simply to help keep your mat clean throughout your practice.

When is my order processed?
All orders made prior to 12:00 Noon, EST Monday - Friday (excluding holidays) will be processed on the same day. All orders received after 12:00 Noon EST (or weekends and holidays) will be processed on the next business day.
How do I exchange/return products?
It is very important to us that you are happy and satisfied with your entire kulae experience! If for any reason you are unsatisfied with the products you have received from kulae, simply return it to us within 30 days for a full refund or exchange. Refunds and exchange values are determined by the actual product cost and do not include shipping costs. Unfortunately, we can not refund or give credits for any shipping or handling costs.
